About 2WayTrust
Aged 59, Pete has spent much of his working life as a facilitator, leading groups through challenging discussions on all sorts of different aspects of business, government and international policies.
In the mid-1970s he was Deputy President of the National Union of Students, and then spent a number of years in the TUC Industrial Relations Department. From the late 1980s Pete developed his reputation through his leadership of three national think tanks: Full Employment UK, Open Agenda and then the New World Order Forum, for a three-year period after the terrorist atrocities of 9/11. During this time, he supported conflict resolution work in Bosnia and led a series of international consultations on the changing world order and topics such as “The Future of the UN”.
At the end of that series, Pete identified the need for higher trust leadership, and a new focus on leadership behaviours, as vital to the creation of a world order able to inspire new generations in ways that the current world order has demonstrably failed to do.
From 1987 to 2006 Pete was a Fellow of St. George’s House, Windsor Castle, where he developed the well-known national series of Windsor Castle Consultations that involved national opinion leaders across the whole spectrum of policy work around employment, education and skills.
Since Pete established 2WayTrust a number of CEOs and Executive Directors have asked him to offer them one-to-one mentoring, and he has developed a real passion for this aspect of his work.
Pete is a well-known advocate of Chief Executives leading by example, which is one of the reasons why he introduced the 2WayTrust money back guarantee. He argues that high trust leadership requires CEOs to invest in the integrity and goodwill of those they work most closely with. Hence the importance of the money back guarantee depending upon the judgement of the CEOs mentored by Pete: they need to believe that they are improving the quality of their own leadership as a result of the support that he is giving them.
The relationship between risk-taking and trust is one of the many aspects of high trust leadership that Pete covers in his work with Chief Executives.
