Coaching for top teams

When Pete works with a top team, it’s usually over a two-day period, starting with a series of short one-to-ones with individual team members. The team meeting then runs through to lunchtime on day two, including a private working dinner.
The aim is to ensure that the most difficult issues that have been holding the team back are in play by the end of day one, and there is some agreement about how the team would like to behave in future.
On day two, Pete asks the team to apply the agreed behaviours to a practical business discussion. During this time, he draws out any personal behaviours that seem to be creating difficulties and suggests how they might be left behind.
Within a week of the event, he provides the team with a confidential report recommending specific changes in behaviour by every team member to drive up performance. This then provides the basis for a one-day follow-up session three to six months later.
